Although I have taken photographs all my life in 2007 I decided to take a leap and enroll on a Photography College evening course. Since then I have happily graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester with an MA photography degree and I am an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society.
From the beginning, my photography journey has involved exhibiting my work at local and International Art venues and in 2013, I experienced the other side of the coin as a member of the selection panel during the open exhibition at The Harley Gallery, Welbeck, Nottinghamshire (ref. Exhibitions section).
I have also sold my work at art fairs & markets and as a founder member of the photography group ‘The Raw Collective’. I ran the ‘Art on the Square’ initiative with the aim of bringing together local photographers with local people to sell their work
Between 2008 and 2011 I gained experience working directly with community groups and organisations as the Community Engagement Officer for the New Art Exchange Visual Arts Gallery, Nottingham. Since then I have been the Chair and Education Director of ‘Nottingham Photographers’ Hub’, which is a social enterprise company aiming to empower marginalised communities to develop their confidence, well-being, creativity and photography skills.
I currently live in Nottingham with my family and hopefully a dog soon if my wife agrees! My photography is inspired by the world around me and I enjoy the creative process in image making.
I hope you enjoy my work.
